The intersection of the human and the divine in Genesis 32–33.

A motif that runs throughout the reunion scene of Genesis 32–33 is the intersection of the
human and the divine. The present article highlights this literary theme, exploring structural,
linguistic, and narrative resonances that, both implicitly and explicitly, direct the reader’s
attention to this motif and its significance in these chapters.
