Abstract
This chapter adopts a postfeminist neoliberal perspective to identify the paradoxes imposed by neoliberalism discourses embedded in social media entrepreneurship and how these imperatives may heighten women entrepreneurs’ risk of experiencing online harassment. The chapter engages in a critical discussion of the phenomenon of social media entrepreneurship, the evolving digital landscape and the concept of visibility. Implications derived from the author’s analysis for advancing social media entrepreneurship, postfeminist neoliberalism and critical entrepreneurship studies are presented. Additionally, a research agenda is provided to assist further empirical investigation in this area.
