Abstract
This essay introduces the special issue entitled Reporting Globalwhile being local: Local sources of news for distant audiences. Itdiscusses the rationale behind this special issue’s focus on localnewsworkers who contribute their labour to international news-reporting and reviews research conducted on the work andworking conditions of these newsworkers to date. The article thengoes on to describe the articles that appear in the special issue.
