Abstract
Ethics are of growing academic interest in Translation Studies but are rarely reviewed across the translation industry. This chapter surveys related work, as the purview of ethics in translation broadens to include all stakeholders, and examines key issues, focusing on business ethics and the increasing use of technology. It looks at the effect on organisations’ stakeholders and their stated purpose as they scramble to add AI to their products and to broaden what they can offer commercially in order to secure their bottom line. Finally, it considers the potential effects of incoming legislation and the potential for ethics as a business model.
