Abstract
The Society of Actuaries in Ireland (“the Society”) is the professional body representing the actuarial profession in Ireland. The Society’s Mission includes the following:
To serve the public interest by contributing as an objective voice on matters where anactuarial perspective can add value.
In this context, the Society is pleased to present this report which has been authored by members of the Society’s Demography Committee. Whilst this report provides a numerical analysis of the deaths
experienced in Ireland in 2020/2021, the Society is very much cognisant of the people behind these numbers and is mindful of those who suffered the loss of a loved one during this period.
