Abstract
This study addresses the critical need to understand stakeholder dynamics in rewilding initiatives within the context of the global nature crisis, particularly in the Global South, where species and habitats face significant pressures. By bridging a gap in longitudinal evidence, it examines the Mauritius Kestrel (Falco punctatus), a species rescued from near extinction, as a case study, offering valuable insights into sustainable rewilding practices. The research identifies key factors that drive the effectiveness of conservation efforts and provides actionable guidance for future species protection.
