Abstract
This report examines the impact of the Delivering Equality of Opportunity in Schools Strategy (DEIS, DES, 2005- 2020) on the performance of pupils in primary and post-primary schools. First, however, reference is made to the provision of opportunities to develop literacy and numeracy among disadvantaged children in early childhood education and care setting
